Our Inspiration: Professor Rajendra Singh
Rajendra Singhji was a professor of physics at the University of Allahabad. He was born in 1922 in a small village in Uttar Pradesh. He studied physics at the University of Allahabad and then served the university as Professor from 1945 to 1965. After post graduation with a major in Physics, he joined Allahabad University as a teacher of spectroscopy. He continued to teach at the university for several years and was eventually appointed head of the Physics Department. He was a popular teacher who explained complex concepts with simplicity and clarity. During the MSc final practical exams, Rajendra Singh, also known as Rajju Bhaiyya, received high praise from Nobel laureate C.V. Raman, who remarked that he had never seen such a clear-headed and practical student before. Singh had scored a perfect 100 on the exam, which Raman had personally examined, and had placed second in his MSc class. Despite Raman's invitation to join him in Bengaluru, Singh politely declined and instead chose to pursue research under his guru at Allahabad University while also teaching there.He was also considered an expert in nuclear physics, a rare field in India at the time. He served as RSS Sarsanghchalak (Chief) from 1994 to 2000. He passed away in 2003 in Pune.

Admission to Prof. Rajendra Singh Exploratory is open to all students who have an interest in science. Admissions are fixed in the month of June-July for one year academic session till April.
